SFAA spreads its activities to Eastern Slovakia
The activities of the Slovak Fulbright Alumni Association (SFAA) start to spread across Slovakia. Two great events took place on 8th October 2019 in Košice. The first one was hosted by Department of British and American Studies of Faculty of Arts of Pavol Jozef Šafárik University. It was focused on presentation of the US exchange programs to Master degree students. Laura Dittel, Július Rozenfeld and Alena Vachnová, all of them alumni of the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program, and Zuzana Buráková, alumna of IVPL program, shared their experience, stories and the impact, participation in exchange programs had on their lives. All of them encouraged the students to step out of their comfort zones and apply for some of many USA exchange programs. You can find the video from this event here and photogallery here.
Later that day, the first Alumni Gathering, attended by alumni of 9 US exchange programs (Fulbright, Humphrey, IVLP, Salzburg Seminar, YLP, Holocaust, PFP-GLC, TIES, and YTILI) took place in the city center of Košice. It was a great opportunity for alumni to get to know each other and to share their professional knowledge and personal stories. Moreover, this was an exceptional opportunity to personally meet and talk with Ms Bridget Brink, the Ambassador of USA in Slovakia. Both events have been organized with a great support of the US Embassy in Slovakia and its staff.
